How are the treatments performed?
The FotoFacial RF treatments are very simple, in-office procedures. The area wished to be treated is first covered with a thin layer of aqueous medium. This medium serves to conduct the radiofrequency current into the skin efficiently and effectively. Once the conductive medium is applied, then the targeted area of the body is treated with a very gentle pulse of light and radiofrequency energy. The medium does not serve to cool as the hand piece of the FotoFacial RF™ device has cooling features built in to protect your skin.
Each treatment takes about half an hour. With certain skin types, a microdermabrasion (removal of dead surface skin) is performed to increase the penetration depth of the light and radiofrequency energy. Many patients desire 3 - 6 treatments to see the desired results.
